The settings in this section concern the details of how the program interacts with Betfair Exchange data.

Show Virtual Bets
Enables or disables the display of virtual odds in the order book. These are odds calculated by the exchange operator that do not correspond to actual bets on that selection, but are derived from equivalence calculations based on bets placed on other selections, providing the bettor with better conditions for matching a given bet placed on the market.

API NG Connection Mode

• Refresh Rate: allows you to set the frequency at which a market's order book is updated. This setting should be configured according to the capacity of your connection and the number of markets kept open simultaneously.
• Maximum Number of Requests per Second: limits the maximum number of API calls made to the exchange operator when multiple markets are open simultaneously.
  

API Stream Connection Mode

• Refresh Rate: the frequency, expressed in seconds, at which the program processes the data for each individual market.
• Conflation Rate: the time interval, expressed in milliseconds, used to group multiple messages from the Betfair data stream into batches transferred at regular intervals, thereby reducing the program's processing load. If set to zero, the program receives messages from the stream continuously. A higher value reduces the load on the connection when handling incoming data.

Hide Balance: use this option if, for privacy reasons, you do not want your account balance to appear in the bottom bar of the main window.

Show User ID / Username: enables or disables the display of your user ID in the bottom bar of the main window.

Automatic Balance Refresh: determines whether and how often your account balance is updated in the bottom bar of the main window. If automatic refreshing is disabled, you must click the corresponding button on the bar to update the balance.

Enable ‘Heartbeat’ Function: the Heartbeat function was introduced by Betfair to allow customers to manage open positions if connectivity to the Exchange system is lost for any reason. When this option is enabled, the program sends a signal at regular intervals of 120 seconds confirming that the connection to the Betfair servers is active. If the server connection is lost and the server does not receive the signal within the specified interval, orders on the market will automatically be cancelled by the Exchange. Betfair does not guarantee that all bets will be cancelled, as there are various circumstances in which cancellation may fail. Session Duration Based on User Activity: when this option is enabled, the session is automatically closed after 20 minutes of user inactivity to help prevent unauthorized use of your terminal.
