Home BETTING TOOLKIT USER GUIDE Functions Markets Monitor
The Markets Monitor is a highly useful feature both in the pre-match and live phases of each event. The Markets Monitor, as the name suggests, allows you to monitor and track your chosen markets. It also allows you to operate with Automation and implement Global Cash Out, one of the many unique features included in Betting Toolkit. Please refer to the relevant section for further details and explanations.
In the Markets Monitor table, for each market of each event entered, we find a series of data arranged in columns: the name of the event, the type of sport, the type of market, whether it is in play or not, the back and lay book percentages, the amount of money matched for that market, the market's betting delay, the minimum profit or loss, the maximum profit or loss, the real-time cash-out value, the current profit or loss, the number of unmatched bets, the number of partially and fully matched bets, the number of pending bets (trading and stop losses), the result and time of the match (if the live results feature is active), and the timer with the last data update.
Other columns in the table are dedicated to the Strategy name, the execution status, and the log if an Automation strategy has been applied to that specific market. Specifically, it is possible to select the strategy slot (1 to 5) for which data is to be displayed. See below for details.
The Market Monitor button bar contains commands for managing added markets. You can select all, delete only selected markets, delete all markets, or open the Market Window for the selected market. This can also be done by double-clicking the relevant market row. You can also apply a specific strategy to a specific market or multiple markets, cancel the strategy application, start it, or stop it.
The number of monitored markets can be configured in the Options window on the General page. There is an upper limit set by the Betfair API.
In API-NG mode, the number of markets is also limited by the set request per second limit. Therefore, for optimal use of the Market Monitor, we recommend using the API-Stream connection.
Book
In the Market Monitor, you can quickly view the book status of the currently selected market using a special grid. You can also place and cancel bets and cash out selections directly from the book summary grid. To activate this view, click the "Book" button in the top toolbar.
The book view displays up to 5 orders for each selection.
Clicking on an order cancels it, while clicking while holding down the CTRL key allows you to edit the bet as described in the relevant section.
Markets Board
Using the Markets Monitor, you can add or delete individual markets to the Markets Board. This feature provides a grid view of the books for all selected markets. See the dedicated page for a more detailed description.
Dutching / Multiple Bet
The Dutching and Multiple Bet features can be accessed by trading on a specific market, selecting it, and operating via the context menu (right-click).
Managing Strategy Execution from the Market Monitor
Slot Selector
Managing strategies from the Markets Monitor involves using the strategy slot selector to specify which of the 5 available slots the data for is displayed in the table. In the image below, the first slot is selected.

The "Apply, Start, Stop, and Remove" strategy commands apply to all slots unless the "Strategy buttons only apply to the selected slot" option is selected.
A strategy applied to a market can have two states:
- Running
- Stopped
Applying a strategy from the Market Monitor starts it immediately.
Applying and Starting a Strategy
To start a strategy on one or more markets, proceed as follows:
- Select the market row or rows to which you want to apply the strategy.
- Press the "Apply Strategy" button.
The strategy is applied to the first free slot in the market, or if the "Strategy buttons only apply to the selected slot" option is selected, the strategy is applied to the selected slot.
In the first case, if there are no free slots, the strategy is not applied; in the second case, if the indicated slot is not free, the strategy is not applied.
Stopping a Strategy
There are two ways to stop a strategy:
- Select the row or rows of the strategies you want to stop and click the "Stop Strategy" button.
Or:
- Right-click the strategy name button on the row of the relevant market.
The strategies for all market slots are stopped unless the "Strategy buttons only operate on the selected slot" option is selected, in which case only the strategy for the specified slot is stopped.
Starting a Strategy
- Select the row or rows of the strategies you want to start and click the "Start Strategy" button. All market strategies are started unless the "Strategy buttons only operate on the selected slot" option is selected, in which case only the strategy for the specified slot is started.
or:
- Middle-click the strategy name button on the row of the relevant market.
Unapplying a Strategy
There are two ways to unapply a strategy:
- Select the row or rows of strategies you want to unapply and click the "Remove Strategy" button.
All strategies for the selected markets are unapplied unless the "Strategy buttons only apply to the selected slot" option is selected, in which case only the strategies for the selected slot are unapplied.
or:
- Right-click the strategy name button on the row of the relevant market if the strategy is already stopped. If the strategy is running, double-click the right mouse button.
Add Markets
The Add Markets button allows you to add the following to the market monitor:
Choosing Displayed Columns
You can set the columns to display and their order via Options / Displayed Columns and Formulas, and the configuration will be retained the next time you access the function.
Columns can be sorted simply by dragging the column header to the desired position, or by using the column settings window mentioned above.
The column settings window on the left contains columns not included in the table, while the list on the right contains columns already displayed. In this second table, you can set the display order. Using the appropriate buttons, you can move elements individually or all at once, from the left to the right table and vice versa.
Formula Columns
Among the many columns available, three columns can be customized with user formulas. The variables that can be used in formulas are the same as those used in Automation. See the Formula function. Columns can host different formulas depending on the type of market the row represents.
Market Note
You can select a market, right-click to open the context menu, and select Edit Market Note. This allows you to insert a text note associated with that specific market and display the note in its dedicated column.
